Huawei Technologies, Revenue to develop e-services hub for SMEs

KUALA LUMPUR: Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and cashless payment solutions provider Revenue Group Bhd have teamed up to develop an e-Services Hub for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Their objective is to build an ecosystem to develop digital innovations to help over 900,000 SMEs in Malaysia move towards digital transformation and effectively boost their presence in the market.

To mark this partnership, its unit Revenue Safe Nets Sdn Bhd recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Huawei Malaysia.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, both parties said there was an urgent need to empower SMEs to adopt digital applications and software that will bring their businesses to the next level, digitally.

“Hence, this collaboration will provide SMEs access to over 1,000 software which are available on Cloud that will help businesses run more efficiently and effectively.

“Both parties will leverage digital innovation platforms which both parties will jointly develop using Huawei’s cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, ” they said.

Huawei Malaysia be the technology provider in the collaboration, and together with Revenue, will develop innovative solutions to digitalise businesses through strategic projects, using Huawei’s cloud and AI technologies.

The four-pronged strategy of the collaboration are:

1) Huawei Malaysia will play the role of technology provider in the collaboration, and together with Revenue, will develop innovative solutions to digitalise businesses through strategic projects, using Huawei’s Cloud and AI technologies.

2) Using Huawei’s Cloud and AI technologies, Revenue will be the platform provider in this collaboration to develop industry-driven solutions.

3) Both parties will develop go-to-market programmes, which will include consultation services that focus on digital transformation for businesses.

4) Both parties will develop cloud-based ICT solutions for devices that can be commercialised.

Revenue's managing director and group CEO Datuk Eddie Ng Chee Siong said the partnership will enable them to build and implement cloud and AI-based innovations.

“The e-Services Hubwill be most helpful for independent software vendors (ISVs) and app developers, as well as for the entire ecosystem, to boost our country’s digital economy, ” Ng added.

Huawei Malaysia’s vice president of cloud and AI, Lim Chee Siong said by tapping on Huawei’s deep expertise and in-depth knowledge in Cloud and AI technologies, both parties will be able to not only develop effective innovative solutions, but also build a thriving ecosystem to help SMEs grow and transform digitally.

The e-services hub will see the integration of Revenue’s in-house service innovation platform and Huawei’s Cloud and AI technologies, and will target SMEs as well as Huawei’s channel partners in Malaysia.
