KUALA LUMPUR: AEMULUS HOLDINGS BHD has proposed to set up a joint venture in China in a move to monetise its intellectual property (IP) rights and expands its business.
The semiconductor test equipment maker told Bursa Malaysia today that it had entered into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Tangren Microtelligence Technology Co Ltd.
"The proposed joint venture serves to affirm Aemulus' maiden step to strengthen its presence in mainland China," it said.
Aemulus has a 40% stake in the JV company. The duration for the joint venture is 20 years.
Under this deal, Aemulus will transfer the utilisation and IP rights of its radio frequency tester to the JV company in stages.
"As such, the estimated gain from the Proposed Transfer of the said IP is approximately RM3.4mil, which will be recognised proportionately in the corresponding financial year upon the transfer of technology," it said.
