KUALA LUMPUR: YONG TAI BHD plans to rope in Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd to manage its terminal after getting the go-ahead from Melaka state government to proceed with the project.
In a statement today, the company said it has received the letter of approval from Melaka state government to develop an international cruise terminal at its flagship property project in the state.
At the same time, the company has also entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd to manage the terminal.
"The cruise industry is one of the fastest growing segments of tourism and there is no doubt that this upcoming cruise terminal will increase tourist arrivals in Impression City Melaka, which in turn, will lead to greater spending by tourists," chief executive officer Datuk Wira Boo Kuang loon said in a statement today.
Impression City Melaka is part of Yong Tai’s flagship mixed development project with an estimated gross development value of RM8bil.
