Pharmaniaga Bhd operations should be unaffected in the near term and is ready to face the challenges that awaits in 2020.
With a strong track record of 25 years in supplying medical items to government hospitals, institutions and clinics, the company is likely to remain key distributor even with open tender system that is likely to be introduced in the 1st quarter of 2020.
Even on online investors’ forum, talks circulating cyberspace indicate Pharmaniaga will not be affected anytime soon, at least not until the government has ironed out all issues surrounding the new open tender system like framework and bid evaluation.
Until all this is resolved, it was reported that the government has decided extend Pharmaniaga’s logistics and distribution services contract with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to ensure smooth transition.
Pharmaniaga is an expert in cold chain pharmaceutical logistics and distribution, with a historically proven track record of 25 years, supplying drugs and medical items to over 148 government hospitals and 1,300 government health centres encompassing urban and remote areas.
The company has distribution centres throughout Malaysia across Shah Alam, Juru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu regions. It also operates branches in Indonesia with the main warehouses located in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.
