用钱之道，在于量入为出，用得其所，把钱花在刀口上。花钱买东西，不应该是为了“炫富”、彰显身份。
The Key to Happiness的作者Meik Wiking指出，北欧人鲜少有“炫耀性消费”（conspicuous consumption），即花钱买奢侈品，原因是他们崇尚“洋特法则”（The Law of Jante）。
洋特法则一共有十条：
一、切莫以为你比我们重要
You’re not to think you are more important than we are.
二、切莫告诉自己你比我们优秀
You’re not to convince yourself that you are better than we are.
三、切莫以为其他人在乎你
You’re not to think anyone cares about you.
四、切莫以为你比我们知道更多东西
You’re not to think you know more than we do.
五、切莫以为你有任何特别之处
You’re not to think you are anything special.
六、切莫以为你跟我们一样好
You’re not to think you are as good as we are.
七、切莫以为你比我们聪明
You’re not to think you are smarter than we are.
八、切莫以为你擅长些什么
You’re not to think you are good at anything.
九、切莫嘲笑我们
You’re not to laugh at us.
十、切莫以为你能教我们些什么
You’re not to think you can teach us anything.
