KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Tower REIT, Yokohama Industries, Parkson Holdings, Gunung Capital and Tanjung Offshore to be among the stocks to watch on Tuesday.
Tower REIT sold its Menara ING for RM132mil while Yokohama Industries’s major shareholder decided to sell its 62% stake in the company at RM1.70 a share.
Parkson Holdings’ Hong Kong subsidiary Parkson Retail has acquired the Qingdao Shopping Mall in China for RM798mil.
JF Apex Research said Gunung Capital bagged a RM165mil service -contract worth from the Ministry of Defence to provide bus transport services to the National Service programme.
Tanjung Offshore, the group and Bourbon Far East Pte Ltd have aborted the proposed asset injection exercise that would have resulted in a reverse takeover (RTO) of Tanjung Offshore by Paris-based oil and gas giant, Bourbon SA.
As for Sunway, JF Apex Research said the group secured a RM170m job to build Johor's Coastal Highway Southern Link.
On the external front, US and European stocks closed mixed on Monday, amid fresh lows on oil prices and renewed political uncertainty in Greece after the country failed to elect a president.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI gained 3.97 points or 0.23% on Monday to close at 1,768.41.
“We expect profit taking to kick in today with renewed concern on slump in oil price and relatively weak market sentiment in overseas markets,” said JF Apex Research.
