Trading ideas: WZ Satu, Westports, Media Prima, YFG, MPC
KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects WZ Satu, Westports, Media Prima and Malaysia Pacific Corp to see trading interest on Friday following the latest corporate developments.
It said WZ Satu plans to acquire oil and gas support services provider UBF Maintenance Sdn Bhd for RM79mil in cash and shares.
Westports’ 3Q net profit jumped 33% on-year underpinned by a higher container volume. It plans a RM1bil capex to expand container terminal 8.
JF Apex Research said Media Prima’s 3Q net profit fell 34% on-year on the back of lower revenue.
As for YFG, the group’s auditor has issued a qualified opinion on the group’s FY14 financial statement.
Malaysia Pacific Corp, the group may be suspended by Bursa from Monday should they fail to submit its annual audited account by today.
Overnight on Wall Street, US stocks climbed, lifting the Dow and S&P 500 to records, after upbeat economic reports in the US and assurances from European Central Bank President Mario Draghi that the ECB would adopt further easing measures, if needed.
Meanwhile, European shares closed mixed after Draghi hinted as to the possibility of further aggressive stimulus measures and hit back at claims of dissent at the Bank.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI fell 7.31 points to close at 1,831.98.
“Asian equities are poised for a higher open on Friday, after Wall Street climbed on assurances from Draghi. We expect the KLCI to bounce off its support of 1,830 but remain below its resistance of 1,850,” it said.
