KUALA LUMPUR: Shares in GREEN PACKET BHD (GPacket) surged to a 10-year high on strong buying interest following its latest newsflow.
The counter, one of the top gainers on Bursa Malaysia, added 24 sen, or 24.74% to RM1.21, its highest since January 2010. GPacket-WB rose seven sen to 53 sen with 133.26 million shares traded.
The technology and telecommunications company has recently launched its KipleLive proptech application as part of its ‘We Are Ready’ campaign, which aims to get Malaysian businesses to embrace new norms to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic.
KipleLive’s FR thermal scanners scans and records temperatures of individuals at a fast and accurate rate, including identifying potentially infected persons.
It has also recently undertaken the ‘Warong Digital e-Baazar Ramadan’ programme in collaboration with the Coalition of Malay Small Traders Association, which leverages on the KiplePay e-wallet that allows cashless transactions.
Yesterday, GPacket announced its partnership with Tencent Cloud to offer an "electronic know-your-customer" (e-KYC) service called KipleID e-KYC to businesses, especially those in the banking and financial sector.
e-KYC is a digital solution to verify the identity of customers in online transactions. In their collaboration on KipleID e-KYC, Kiplepay will leverage Tencent Cloud's facial recognition and machine learning capabilities.
GPacket is currently in talks with several leading companies who will be piloting the KipleID e-KYC solution, it said.
