The stock market is a great place to generate wealth
be it as a trader or as an investor. Although my own personal advice
for the majority of the people out there is to invest long-term as it is
a much easier process than trading, but there is no doubt a successful
trader can make money at a much faster pace.
At
Laburlah, we have both investment and trading teams because we see
value in both strategies but one core principle we stick to is that we are in it for the long-run.
How to visualize it is very simple, its 2 different types of runners,
investing is like a long-distance runner who knows how to pace
themselves evenly to finish the marathon, while a trader looks to take
200m bursts then walk for 50m then completed another similar cycle until
he finishes the marathon. But one thing is common in both, to really
hit your wealth target, it is going to be a marathon irregardless which strategy you take.
We
engage with a lot of people but are still surprised that up to today
with the advent of social media and internet, with the vast sea of
information out there, that people have the misconception still that trading is some sort of "get-rich-quick" scheme and
its a reason they want to get involved. We are here to say that if you
still think your success in trading is a matter of the first 100 trades -
its not. It says nothing about how successful or unsuccessful you will be. What it gives you is just a BASE to gauge your current skill level. That's all.

If you find yourself constantly complaining after a succession of losses or your head in the sky after a good run of winners - remind yourself it is a marathon. The greatest traders in the world are in the game for YEARS. That thousands and thousands of trades, dedication to the cause and constant learning to reach the level of a successful trader.
That's a big reason we created our Laburlah Trading Portfolio Challenge
in the hope that our readers get a sense how often we trade, what type
of realistic profits you should expect as well as the pace of growth of
your capital. We hope by following our journey, you get the biggest
lesson in trading - it takes time!
Invest
in on-going education and information but most important if you want to
be part of the successful 20% in the stock market, invest your time and
be patient. Marathons take a longer time to finish.
