Trading ideas: Faber, CMS, Protasco, Jetson, Careplus, telcos
KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Faber Group, Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS), Protasco, Kumpulan Jetson, Careplus and telecommunications companies to see trading action on Friday.
The research house said Faber had announced its hospital support services (HSS) concession agreement it inked with the government on March 11 have a total contract value of RM3.07bil.
As for CMS, the group is acquiring a 50% stake in Sarawak-based telecommunications infrastructure and services company Sacofa Sdn Bhd for RM186.79mil or RM4.40 per share.
JF Apex Research said Protasco secured a RM77mil contract to undertake the maintenance works of federal roads in Sarawak from the Public Works Department.
Kumpulan Jetson is proposing to acquire 100% stake in Homegrown Development Sdn Bhd for RM4.2 million coupled with the purchase of a 0.99 ha of land for RM8.5mil to expand into the property development business.
Careplus proposed a one-for-two bonus issue of 170 million new shares of 10 sen each to reward existing shareholders.
Telco counters agreed to reduce their broadband rates by more than 6%.
Overnight on Wall Street, US markets rose before closing on Friday for Easter holiday.
On the radar are the US employment data and outcome of Iran nuclear talks.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI gained 5.66 points to 1,831.97.
“The index is still unable to break away from the resistance of 1830 points despite breaching the 200-day moving average. We expect the index to consolidate and retest the threshold before approaching the next resistance at 1,845,” it said.
