Last year, Khazanah Nasional and Malaysia Airlines (MAS) appointed Scicom and Sutherland Global Services to re-skill 6,000 MAS staff. This could potentially lead to more jobs, considering MAS has a total of 20,000 employees.
Scicom is a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions provider, with operations in Kuala Lumpur, Colombo and Jakarta. The company also provides education and training services.
It has a strong balance sheet with net cash of RM27.1 million or 7.6 sen per share. With no borrowings, ROE was a high 32.5% in FY2014, up from 22.0% a year ago.
Due possibly to its high growth potential, the stock is trading at a high trailing 12-month P/E of 27.2 times and 9.9 times book. Dividends totalled 5.8 sen in FY2014, translating into a net yield of 2.6%.
