Engineering company, Salcon (Fundamental: 1.75/3, Valuation: 1.2/3) is mainly involved in water and wastewater industry, with two main divisions — construction and concession.
During 2013, Salcon disposed of its entire portfolio of China water and wastewater concession to Beijing Enterprise Water Group for RM518.3 million.
In the same year, Salcon diversified into property development upon launching its first commercial development — Res 280, located in Selayang. The project has a GDV of RM155 million and is expected to be completed in 2016.
For FY2014, revenue increased 22.7% y-y to RM201.9 million, while pre-tax profit stood at RM1.6 million as compared to a loss in 2013, driven by higher contribution from construction division.
Salcon also has a joint-venture with EcoWorld, to develop Eco Mid Town project, located within Iskandar Malaysia, Johor. The project which has a GDV of RM1.2 billion, is expected to be launched this year.
The stock is trading at trailing 12-month P/E of 129.3 times and 1.1 times book-value.
