KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Unisem, Tek Seng, Signature International and Press Metal to see trading interest on Friday.
It said Unisem posted net profit of RM27mil in its 3Q results against net loss of RM600,000 a year ago on the back of higher sales and lower operating costs.
Tek Seng has proposed a bonus issue of free warrant on the basis of one free warrant for every two existing shares held.
Signature International posted net profit of RM8.8mil in its fourth quarter results against a net loss of RM1.1mil a year ago with higher revenue from the kitchen and wardrobe segment.
JF Apex Research said Press Metal staged a turnaround with net profit of RM83mil in the third quarter against losses of RM1.6mil a year ago due to higher aluminium selling price and higher output at its Mukah and Bintulu smelting plants.
Overnight on Wall Street, US stocks jumped with Visa helping lift the Dow industrials into the green for October, after data showed the U.S. economy grew more than expected last quarter. Similarly, European stocks ended the day higher after a bumpy day of trading, as investors pondered the US Federal Reserve's next move.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI added 3.23 points to close at 1,842.78.
“Following the bullish performance in the US, we expect the KLCI to extend its gains and test the resistance of 1,850,” JF Apex Research said.
